So If you’re looking for the affordable smartphone below Rs. 20,000 but you just don’t want to buy an tiny smartphone or a phone from a brand you don’t know well then the sony xperia xa1 may be interesting for you. Sony has launched this phone this year at the MWC 2017  and it is available at a price of Rs. 18,990*.

The phone comes with a IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen with 16Million colors the size of the screen is 5.0 inches and the screen to body ratio is approximately ~70.9%. The resolution of the screen is 720 x 1280 pixels which is just HD not full HD.

The primary camera is of 23 megapixels with a aperture of f/2.0 and 24mm. The primary camera have some features like phase detection autofocus, LED flash also Geographical tagging and touch focus plus it also have face or smile detection and HDR.

The secondary camera is of 8 megapixels with a sperture of f/2.0 and it comes with autofocus.

Speakers and Headphone Jack:

The phone supports call/message vibration and the speaker on the phone comes with a very decent sound quality.

The phone also comes with a headphone jack and yes there is a dedicated headphone jack in this phone.

The phone comes with an internal storage of 32GB and 3GB RAM plus this phone also has a dedicated microSD card support and can support upto 256GB.

The processor comes once again from Media Tech a supplier that’s becoming more and more tied to budget devices and it’s this time to the Helio P 20 this is a mid-range associate and is running at 2.3 gigahertz.

The phone comes with Android 7.0 along with sony skin that has barely improved over the years there are some sony apps pre-installed but there is no real bloatware as stated before UI is not super fast but gets the job done for normal tasks but as you can see Facebook and those out sometimes they take some time to load up or they just lag a little bit.

If we compare this phone with some budget range devices from a company like xiaomi then for sure, buying this phone is not a great deal instead if are still going or planning to buy this phone then you would definitely lack some features and some sensors that comes dedicated even in a budget range smartphone from xiaomi.

Performance is not that good but this phone is not made for gaming anyway also as you can see the benchmarks that do not look impressive it also lags of a gyroscope and other sensors but that’s come on on budget films and also there’s no sign of overheating on the phone of the mediatek chipset.

Pros and Cons

  • While seeing a budget range smartphone from a company like Sony the overall performance of the device is well enough for a normal user.
  • Good and stable software(Android Nougat).

  • The phone comes with a outdated Android Version which is 7.1 nougat.
  • The build quality is not so good because it is made up of plastic like material.
